Update

Today at approximately 1:00 PM, the faulty network switch that caused the outage yesterday evening, will be replaced by our service provider. During this replacement we will have a brief outage that will affect the same systems and services from last night’s outage (Campus internet connectivity and mySAU).

This outage will only last a few minutes, and systems should be restored very quickly once the switch is replaced.

Monitoring

Earlier tonight, at 7:47 PM, a network switch failure at our primary Internet provider caused an outage across our campus systems. Normal campus network and internet operations were successfully restored by approximately 9:34 PM. Campus internet connectivity and mySAU were affected by this outage; however, Brightspace remained accessible for those using it off-campus.

The faulty network switch is slated for replacement by our service provider tomorrow afternoon. Although current network operations are stable, some minor instability may occur until the new hardware is installed.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely. If you encounter any unexpected connectivity issues, please reach out to the IT Help Desk.
